Snapshot of the kiddos

Emmett (5 1/2 years)
• Loves everything to do with dinosaurs.  He's been learning a lot from one of his new favorite shows Dino Dan.
• Has really taken off with his reading. He reads all sorts of books, but especially loves his Dinosaur encyclopedia and in general prefers non-fiction over fiction.
• Is super into hoods and hats. Wore his snow hat indoors most of the time we were in Utah before Christmas. Then swapped it for his new Jazz hat. Which he sometimes wore over the hood of his hooded shirt.
• Enjoys all things words and writing. He still loves to draw, but now he's creating books (usually about dinosaurs), doing word searches, making cards, etc. He's also working on holding his pencil correctly.
• Has learned some new skills like riding a two-wheeler, ice skating and downhill skiing. It's so fun to see his confidence grow!

Caroline (2 months shy of 3 year old):
• Loves a pbj sandwich but always takes apart the slices of bread to eat it.
• Wants to help with everything, which is sweet but exasperating.
• Has the best wink in town that includes nearly a full head turn.
• Wears big girl undies!
• "No-huh." We are in the throws of answering "no" to everything.  "No-huh" is when she starts out with no but then realizes that she actually does want whatever we are asking or offering.
• Loves all things candy. Loves all things screen.  :)
• Twirls, jumps, rolls and climbs without much regard for her surroundings. She is also frequently covered in bumps and bruises. She loves the Nutcracker Suite and dancing.
• Rarely falls asleep (at night or nap time) unless someone is laying by her. She ends up in bed with mom and dad 6 out of 7 nights a week.
• She is LOUD! We talk about indoor voices frequently.
 Late nights with this lady.
Norah isn't always this happy about being held by Caroline.  :)

Norah--8 months

Weight: 15.5 lbs
Teeth count: 2
Eight months old is such fun. Norah has learned some of my favorite baby tricks. She claps her hands, clicks her tongue and blows raspberries. She has gotten quite good at picking up small things and putting them in her mouth. She has two bottom teeth that make her grin even more adorable. She is usually very content to be left to roam all around the living room and kitchen exploring and playing with toys. She's also become quite playful and giggly when playing games with her parents and siblings. Her sounds are pleasant but kind of low and growly. She eats Gerber puffs by the fistful, splashes like crazy in the tub and makes putting on a diaper a challenging task. She still spits up plenty and still isn't quite stable when sitting (she'd rather be on her tummy). She's also entered into the distracted-nursing phase where each feeding takes significantly longer due to her having to look at whoever happened to walk in the room or say something. In her short 8 months she has already traveled to Utah three times.  How we love this happy baby!
