We've stayed busy in March and April doing our best to enjoy the perfect spring weather and take advantage of the fun people and places around us. The Utah Jazz come to the East coast to play the Charlotte Bobcats once a year. This generally takes place in December while we are out of town; but due to the lockout, this year the game happened at the beginning of March. Clark, Jake and I headed down to Charlotte for the night, bringing our Jazz spirit to the 4th row of the Time Warner Cable Arena. It's a totally different experience than seeing a game in Utah. There are not many Bobcats fans around, leaving lots of empty seats and great ticket prices. Wow. Props to Amy for understanding the lockout and its affect on scheduling and what not. I love this woman.
Our up-close-and-personal seats gave us lots of great views of the coaches, players and refs.
Clark and Jake gave in to their Jazz obsession and gave the players high-fives and shout-outs as they headed to the locker room. I have yet to wash my hand.
General Conference
A few weeks later, we headed back down to Charlotte to spend conference weekend with Vaughn and Margaret. It was relaxing and inspiring. We ate plenty of Pop-tarts and other tasty treats, listened to wonderful talks from our church leaders, and obsessed over the cuteness that Emmett exudes.
Buddies with Uncle Vaughn
Bouncing, bouncing all the time
Always on the go, clothed or not!
A new hilarious face just for that weekend's entertainment
A hard-working tongue
Those eyes!
Love that twinkle in his eyes
Lounging
Spring FunLots of the kids in the ward had a 3-week break from their year-round school schedule at the end of March. During that time there were lots of fun outings to the park, Locopops and Pelican's Snowballs. Emmett and I both sure love spending time with this crew!
Dan had a birthday on April 2. Hil and I made a tasty carrot cake and celebrated with dinner out and friends over for dessert. Sure enjoy having these two close by.
Radiant in Red
The Young Women theme for the month is Individual Worth. We decided to kick off the month with a "Radiant in Red" party. As you can see, we all wore red and sported cute puff headbands made by Ruth. The evening included an intro to the theme by Ruth, followed by story time with Becky. She read The Award, which the girls really got into. We then watched a cute "I am a Child of God" videoclip. To wrap things up, I introduced a couple of activities we were going to incorporate into the month, including our VIP friends and Radiant in Red poster. Aren't these girls lovely?
And of course, we had tasty red desserts: red velvet cake and shirley temples.
Can't believe that spring is still young! There are still many adventures to record and to have!
