Nine months

weight:  19 1/2 pounds
height:  28 1/2 inches

Nine months (and a little, since this post is late-coming).  I can't believe that this little guy has been out of my tummy as long as he was inside.  That makes pregnancy seem like a really long time, since I can hardly remember life without Emmett on my hip.

Nine months is a delightful (and destructive) age.  He crawls all over the place, pulls himself to standing, walks along furniture and walls--occasionally letting go for a second.  He crawls up the stairs (though not yet down) and is discovering the world of bonks and bruises.  He loves to open cupboards and play with the dishwasher when mom is doing dishes.  He is a pro at emptying out his toy basket.

Emmett is a good eater.  Thanks to his two new top teeth (they're huge!), he has been trying all sorts of table-foods as of late.  He loves to throw balls (can kids normally throw balls at this age?!) and read books.  He also loves the pushing the laptop buttons and chewing on the iphone.  He has been a great napper and night-sleeper for the last month or so--much to the delight of his parents.  Emmett is good at mimicking and will often do his "tricks" for you.  His current repertoire includes clicking, clapping, dancing, making "raspberries," doing "so big," saying "dat-dat," waving, and most-recently, giving high-fives.
Attempts at documenting some of the tricks...
This kid is seriously good at clicking his tongue.  He has been known to do it for a half an hour straight and even does it in his sleep sometimes.  I dare you to find a more exuberant tongue-clacker out there.

Emmett is so social and interactive.  He exudes positive energy that attracts people of all ages; people can't help but love him.  But, I'm pretty sure no one else loves him nearly as much as his mommy and daddy.
