May and June were busy months. And slightly painful, sad months. Too many days were spent helping too many friends pack up boxes, clean houses, and load trucks. We had 9-10 families move our of our ward, many of whom were good friends whom we will miss very much! Our ward certainly isn't new to this kind of turnover and transition, but it doesn't seem to be something that gets easier with practice.
In an effort to counter the terrible, horrible, no-good aspect of moving, we did try to have many fun and meaningful get-togethers: birthday lunches, a Chile chili hot dog night, bbqs, frozen yogurt runs and more. Here is some documentation of the last outings with these wonderful people:

Turns out that Memmett is a big fan of the sparklers.
Being on a practically summer-long vacation has helped dull the reality that so many of our friends have left. I'm sure it will hit home again once we return to Durham and show up at church to see so many new faces...many of whom will hopefully become new friends.

You know it never got easier for me, though some years were definitely worse than others. And this one would have been a bad one!
