Caroline--4 years old

Weight: 33 lbs 8 oz (38%)
Height: 3 ft 3 in (34%)

Our sweet Caroline has been anticipating her birthday for months now!  She had a different idea everyday of how she wanted to celebrate her birthday and what kind of cake she wanted to have.  We ended up celebrating her birthday on Saturday (May 5) rather than Sunday (May 6) so that she and Clark could travel up to D.C. for Sabine's baby blessing. She woke up to a bunch of balloons by her bed, an awesome birthday poster made by Emmett and a box of Lucky Charms for breakfast. She helped me decorate her cake that morning. In the afternoon, 3 of her preschool friends (Kenzie, Anna Jane and Lydia) came over, and we all went to indoor play gym at Wheels Fun Park.  The girls had a fun time climbing all around and sliding into the ball pit.  Afterwards we celebrated with cake, ice cream and presents. Dinner was Caroline's choice of spaghetti and meatballs.  Some of her presents included mini Star Wars figures, new rain boots and new summer pjs. All in all, I think she had a happy day.

A few things about 4-year-old Caroline:
• Caroline has a little mother heart.  She loves to take care of others and is always anxious to see and help with new babies. Norah doesn't let her do much "mothering" to her, but she is getting big enough that the two girls play together better and better.  Caroline and Emmett actually play together a lot as well, but they also fight a lot and Caroline is quite good (excellent, really) at knowing just how to push his buttons.
• She's thoughtful, affectionate and loves to be a helper (unless it involves cleaning up toys).
• She's continues to be a girl of extremes whether it's emotions or interests.  She loves a good princess show but equally loves Star Wars. Also, her favorite Star Wars character is Darth Vader...
• She loves to have playdates and engages in a lot of imaginative play.
• Her most frequent questions include "Can I watch a show?" and "Can I have a snack?"
• She's just recently started to take interest in drawing (at a most basic level but that is starting to look like real things)
• She can write her first name (fairly legibly).
• She still wants to sleep in mom's bed but is doing better at staying in her own.
• She says New York as Yew Nork.
• She pronounces her Rs as Ws.
• She often speaks in baby talk.  We try to shut that down immediately.
• She can unbuckle herself from her 5-point carseat buckle, as well as open and close the sliding van door.
• She loves to dance and flip and twirl and sing.
