• Sings all the time. Primary songs, nursery songs, Christmas songs, made up songs and sometimes a little line or two from something like Les Mis--"Look down! Look down!" Her songs often mesh two in one. For example, Old McDonald shows up in her version of Jingle Bells. The way she sings the line "the little Lord Jesus lay down his sweet head" is heart-melting. Also, "we wish you a merry mis-mas and a happy new ear!"
• Loves to draw. She draws people. People that are recognizable as people with eyes, mouths, bodies and often with EYEBROWS. Who is this girl? She loves to cover our fridge with her artwork.
• Is talking so much and so clearly (at least to us). Toddlers learning to talk is one of the most adorable things. It's also infuriating at times when they can suddenly express so. many. opinions.
• Wants to do things "all by myself"--pick out pjs, pick out shoes, do her buckle, brush her teeth. This does not extend to eating. I frequently find myself feeding her at meal time in order to get her to eat.
• Plays and fights like one of the big kids.
• Favorite Norah-isms: "Cookie man" = gingerbread man, "Ho ho"= Santa, "Mis-mas"= Christmas, "Fire Station" = firetruck
• Replies with a very sweet "no, thank you" when asked to do something she doesn't want to do.
• Was a big fan of Santa this year--by far the most excited of all the kids to see him. Love that she calls him "Ho Ho." She also has loved pointing out "Mis-Mas Decorations!" rather loudly as we drive around town.
• Loves Daniel Tiger, Little Einsteins and anything else her siblings are watching.
• Loves her baby brother. "Graham so cute!" Any time he's upset, she sings (her version of) "Twinkle, twinkle little star" to him. This actually usually does stop his crying--probably because he's so shocked by the loudness of her singing. :)
• Gives frequent and sweet, unsolicited kisses on the cheek.
• Is good at puzzles and likes to play games. She can hold her own in memory without too much cheating.
• Has an incredible pout face, which she employs often.
• Demands to say the prayer at every occasion. Hell hath no fury like the toddler denied the chance to offer prayer.
• After mastering climbing out of her crib and figuring out how to dismantle the child lock on her door, we decided to switch up rooms and move her to a twin bed. Bedtime is not nearly the breeze it used to be. I know it will get better, but right now we basically have to sit in the room with her until she falls asleep. This goes for night time and for naps (she usually just has "quiet time" now).
• Loves to play outside with the big kids, jump on the trampoline, etc. She rides the tricycle and occasionally than the balance bike as they race up and down the drive way.
