One whole year

20 pounds  9.5 ounces
29.5 inches
still 7 teeth (though I swear molars can't be too far off)

We adore this little boy.  Twelve-month-old Emmett is oodles of fun.  Seriously, this kid is a crack up.  He has the best facial expressions and makes us laugh every day.
Things he loves:
• goldfish crackers
• throwing balls (and other things) in his basketball hoop--especially with dad
• throwing balls (and other things) down the stairs
• playing chase
• waking up daddy when he's pretending (or not) to sleep
• reading books--I swear we read one hundred a day.
• pushing buttons (remotes, computers, toys, electronics, etc)
• watching "Jonah" (a little show on Netflix)
• putting rocks in his mouth
Ball time
Things he does:
• Walks!  He first started taking steps mid July and it has taken a full month to truly convert to being a biped--for a good while he did lots of "knee walking" which was unusual but cute.  His little toddler walk is pretty darn adorable.
• Eats all sorts of table foods.  He does well with eggs, corn, pbj sandwiches, string cheese, apples, green beans, noodles and pancakes.  He generally is a good little eater, but will certainly pick around (or just throw off his tray) items he doesn't care to eat.
• Plays peek-a-boo.  Sometimes it's a rather fast and violent version of peek-a-boo where he quickly smacks his hands to his face and says "boo."
• Gives kisses.  And bear hugs.  It's the best.
• Plays.  It's so fun to watch him play with his toys (which seem to take over our living room) and imagine how his brain is working.  He is usually pretty good to play on his own for at least a portion of the day.  He's still a good block stacker--regularly stacking 6 or 7 blocks.
• Puts smaller stuff inside bigger stuff.  I'm often finding toys and balls inside my kitchen cupboards.
• Jabbers and sings.
• Drinks whole milk.  We are slowly weaning; he currently gets nursed twice a day (morning and night).
• Says "Mmmmmm" when he eats something yummy or when he wants to eat whatever you're eating.
• Says "Uh-oh" a lot.  Sometimes appropriately, sometimes not.
• Fake laughs.  Sometimes it's a courtesy laugh, sometimes it's a force I-want-to-join-in-too kind of laugh.  Both of them of dang funny.  His real laugh, which we hear often, is also adorable.
• Sweats.  He is a sweaty boy.  He gets particularly sweaty when he nurses.  His poor hairline is always damp with sweat!
The knee walk and "mmmmmm"
Our little Memmett Man is a perfect one-year-old.  That certainly means that there are some days he naps horribly and whines and wants to be held all the time; he almost always wakes up before 7 a.m.; and he often throws his food during meal times.  But gosh, he's even pretty cute when he does all that!

Ok, first of all he looks so much like Clark in that last picture. And I'm SO glad you captured the knee walk--so funny!
