With the end of the school year, Baby Schmutz on the way and Charlie's acceptance to divinity school, our department had a lot to celebrate! My dear co-workers, who also happen to be dear friends, through a fun shower/celebration party for us.
We had the most phenomenal cake--honestly, the best I have ever tasted. Ever. We had a good laugh about the personalization "Congrats Charlie & Amy." Many funny pictures and jokes were made about me and Charlie's big day :)
We celebrated with lots of yummy food--including quite authentic "completos" made by Rosita. I was also spoiled with lots of darling baby gifts, like hand-made silk booties by Beth!
I honestly have been so blessed to have such great friends with whom to work. I love these ladies dearly and will miss them so much next year. I will be taking a 12-month leave to stay home with baby this fall. I looked into various options and part-time possibilities, but August babies are tricky for teachers to work around! I am happy to be able to be home and adjust to parenthood without school pressure, but it does feel like a bit of an identity loss; and like I mentioned before, I will miss my sweet friends!
